The Judging Process

At Captive Review, we’re committed to maintaining fairness, integrity, and transparency in our awards process. Each year, we assemble a fresh panel of independent, external judges carefully selected for their diverse expertise in the captive insurance space. Judges sign a confidentiality agreement to ensure all submissions and winners remain secure, and they must declare any potential conflicts of interest before participating.

To prevent undue influence, the full list of judges is only revealed after the judging process is complete. Any attempt to sway the judges results in immediate disqualification from the awards.

Judges are grouped and assigned to specific categories that align with their market knowledge, ensuring impartiality. They evaluate each submission thoroughly, scoring them through a numerical system and providing detailed justification. Winners are then determined automatically via our online judging platform, and in some cases, a Highly Commended distinction may also be awarded.

This rigorous process ensures that the awards truly reflect excellence and leadership in the captive insurance industry.
