Tim is a client executive for life, accident, and health clients of Guy Carpenter’s Minneapolis office. His main focus is assisting healthcare clients (health systems, health plans, and employee plan sponsors) manage their various exposures to medical risk. In particular, he has expertise in designing reinsurance solutions that use the client’s captive. He has extensive experience with employee plans, provider risk, and all lines a health plan might write (commercial, Medicaid, Medicare, etc.). Tim is a licensed insurance producer for P&C and LAH coverages in all 50 states. Tim joined Guy Carpenter’s broking team in 2014. His team provides traditional and captive based reinsurance solutions for clients of all sizes across a range of industries. His team has supported dozens of captive clients in all stages (actuarial support for the feasibility study to placement to ongoing renewals). Prior to that, he led the life, accident, and healthcare analytics for a competing reinsurance broking firm. Before working in reinsurance, Tim gained significant experience in reserving P&C risks across a wide range of lines of business. He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society. Tim holds a BS in Mathematics from Villanova University and a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
