
Laurent Nihoul is General Manager – Group Head of Insurance for ArcelorMittal, the world leading
corporation in the steel and mining industry. In his current position, he is in charge of leading the
worldwide risk and insurance team as well as of operating ArcelorMittal’s global insurable risks
management and financing strategy, including captive (re)insurance and in-house brokerage operations.
He is also a board member of FERMA, the Federation of European Risk Management Associations and of
ALRiM, the Luxembourg Risk Management Association.
Within FERMA, Laurent leads the Captive Initiative work stream, overseeing the inputs from the 22
European Risk Management Associations in 21 countries to coordinate consistent and meaningful
messages towards the EU and the OECD.
Laurent is Belgian and holds a Master Degree in Finance and Insurance, an Insurance Broker Degree and
a Master Degree in Philosophy
